How did this cobot relieve Alcon’s employees from repetitive tasks?
Alcon, the world leader in eye care, strived to find a solution to solve one of its ergonomic issues in an activity that required employees to perform a tedious task. This job required a repetitive action to place packages of clinical clothing onto a conveyor system.
Actemium integrated a cobot solution in the cleanroom for Alcon to relieve employees from doing this so that they can focus on more important responsibilities. The design of the cobot was carefully curated, keeping in mind the flexibility of the system so that it can handle various formats/weights of the clothing packages. Additionally, the cobot is mobile, so it can be easily adapted to another conveyor system or moved to different rooms, if necessary. After this proof of concept, Alcon placed an additional order of 2 more cobots.
