Actemium supports RWE in structural transformation
As part of the construction of two sewage sludge mono-incineration plants, Actemium Materials Handling Cologne is supplying electrical and control systems for the ancillary trades.
A major infrastructure project is being implemented at RWE’s Knapsacker Hügel site: the construction of two sewage sludge mono-incineration plants (SSMI). In the course of this project, Actemium Materials Handling Cologne has been commissioned to realize the ancillary trades for RWE.
Each SSMI line will be expanded to include a recooling system, a third unloading station including a conveying route, and a line-specific vapour condensate treatment plant (VCTP). This system treats the condensate produced during the evaporation of liquids, enabling environmentally compliant reuse or disposal. In addition, the ancillary trades also include a conveying route with silo as well as various media connections.
The scope of work covers complete hardware planning for the switchgear, including manufacturing and delivery, integration of the T3000 control system into the overall SSMI plant, as well as electrical installation and commissioning of the ancillary trades. Project execution is aligned with the implementation of the SSMI lines and is expected to continue until mid-2028.
With this project, the RWE site is taking an important step toward sustainable and efficient sewage sludge utilization for the surrounding region, thereby contributing to regional structural transformation.
ctemium Materials Handling Cologne business unit once again demonstrates its reliability as a partner in times of change and showcases its expertise in the implementation of complete projects.
