Women in Industry presents Aude Muniglia. From business unit manager to the director of VINCI Energies. This is her take on what it’s like to be a woman in industry.

  • What made you decide to pursue this field? How did you decide?

    Ever since I was a little girl, I have been curious about the automotive Industry. Do not ask me why, I do not know where it came from. I’ve always been so interested in understanding how machines work and how to build them, this why I chose scientific studies.

  • What is the best part about being a woman in industry?

    This shouldn’t be a question anymore. But as a matter of fact, there are still far fewer women than men in this field. So I would say, to answer this question is that it can help in different situations because we, as women, are still a minority in this field.

  • What are your biggest accomplishments?

    I am proud of the path accomplished with my former Team in Actemium Nancy Plant Intelligence when I was a Business Unit Manager there. We are all keen on technical challenges, but what I admire above all is the team work that goes into being able to deliver the best solutions for our customers. Team is at the heart of our successes.

  • Have you experienced any obstacles in this line on work? And how did you overcome them?

    Of course, I have experienced some difficulties probably as anyone in any job. But I have learnt that some women have experienced situations that became an obstacle for them. This is why I am now convinced that we, men and women, need to be proactive in promoting women in Industry. A better mix will lead to increased creativity and better performance.

  • Any advice you want to give a women considering a career in industry?

    I would just say do NOT hesitate. It is such a great field with ecstatic challenges, especially with all that has to be done to make this field more sustainable.
